New Lacquer - Tsuma Sentoku
Tsuma Sentoku „Kinsoku Mitateai“ is the term for a group of urushi lacquer that imitates the surface of metalet. Sentoku-Nuri or „tsuki-nuri“ is achieved with brass powder and black urushi lacquer. This “Kawarinuri” experimental lacquer is achieved by sprinkling Sesame “Tsuma”seeds onto black lacquer, then lacquered several times with black lacquer. After curing the surfacee is ground to set free the seeds, then boiled in water to delute the seeds, Finally the remaining immersions are filled with urushi and sentoku powder
